Mathieu Chénier has always loved hockey, especially playing as a goalie. His devotion led him to excel in the Junior A’ league, representing the Hawkesbury Hawks (CCHL) for two years and the Navan Grads for one year. These years not only improved his skills but also gave him the opportunity to travel and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

 

Through his hockey journey, Chénier has been able to embrace the values of teamwork, perseverance, and hard work. He even started teaching other goalies in 2017 while he was still playing himself. In early 2020, he transitioned fully from goalie to coach, putting all his effort into helping goalies of different ages and skill levels improve and succeed.

 

With now seven years of experience as a goaltending coach, Chénier has developed a deep understanding of the game and a unique approach to teaching. He is committed to working closely with each of his clients to identify their strengths and weaknesses and develop personalized strategies to help them achieve their goals.

 

In February of 2022, Mathieu Chénier launched his coaching business, driven by his passion and experience. Goalie Central has been growing ever since. Chénier’s dedication to his craft and his willingness to go above and beyond for his clients makes him a trusted and respected coach.
